Sessions are $150 for individuals or couples. I’m in-network with CenCal in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, and I can provide a superbill for out-of-network clients. Sliding scale may be available.

The first two to three sessions are for getting to know each other and seeing if we’re a good fit. I will talk far more than most of the time we spend together. We will do what’s called a biopsychosocial assessment, where we cover major areas of your current and past life. We will also talk extensively about how therapy works, confidentiality, and informed consent. You don’t need to prepare anything.

I’ve completed my master’s degree and am gaining the supervised experience required for my independent LMFT license. Serena Todd, LMFT, supervises my work. I discuss cases with her in supervision, and your information stays confidential in that setting. I’m also a current doctoral student in clinical psychology.

Yes, that’s common. You can start with a sentence or two about what’s been going on. We’ll figure out the rest together. I love the quote, “There is no such thing has a difficult client, only an inflexible therapist.”

Yes. Many people begin on their own, and couples or family sessions can follow if and when others are ready. Depending on various factors, if your partner of family member wants to join, I may need to refer the couple or family treatment out to another clinician.

Most people start weekly for a fifty minute session. How many months or years we work together depends on what you’re working on. We’ll check in regularly along the way.

I’m not an emergency service. If you’re in crisis, call 988 or 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
You are welcome to text me or leave a voicemail, but I will not have lengthy therapy-adjacent conversations outside of sessions. I will likely respond with “Looking forward to chatting about it during next session.”
